Going into this season of transition for the USC Trojans, there were many questions to be answered. On April 28, the Rotary Club released its 2010 “watch list” for the prestigious Lombardi Award. Out of the east came Lane Kiffin and his posse to rescue a Trojan nation whose hearts were ripped out when their beloved coach, Pete Carroll, left for NFL riches in the Pacific Northwest. News coming out of Knoxville has Bryce Brown, the 6′0″, 215 lb. running back who was widely considered to be the best prep running back in 2008, leaving Tennessee for “personal reasons.” One man leaves the Los Angeles area as a legend to USC fans, the other enters as a pariah to followers of the Tennessee Volunteers. |
